Acupuncture for Back Pain
Over 1 million people in the UK suffer with back pain Most lower back pain most often caused by sprains, muscle strains, minor injuries, or a pinched or irritated nerve.
Research has shown that acupuncture is significantly better than no treatment and at least as good as (if not better than) standard medical care for back pain (Witt 2006; Haake 2007; Cherkin 2009; Sherman 2009a). It is particularly useful alongside conventional care, for patients with more severe symptoms and for those wishing to avoid analgesic drugs.
Acupuncture can help relieve back pain and sciatica by stimulating nerves to release endorphins to change the way the brain processes pain. It can reduce inflammation, improve muscle stiffness and increase joint mobility.
I’ve successfully helped many people suffering with back pain. If you’d like to book you can do so online here. Alternatively, you can email or contact me via my contact form here.

What People Say About Acupuncture With Jo
Seeing Jo was one of the best things I did this year. Acupuncture helped me deal with quite a broad range of things, initially from severe PMT, then morning sickness, lower back pain, headaches and insomnia. At a time when I felt like I couldn’t resolve the problems I had through options from the GP it was great to find an alternative avenue through Jo. I found a remarkable difference in my symptoms really quickly, and always found my visits calming and reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate in going back to Jo, or recommending her treatment to friends.
